March 13, 2011 is this year’s Calle Ocho Festival! The event is known as the largest street festival on Earth. Over two million visitors and residents alike attend the event to enjoy clowns, magicians, sports celebrities, street dancers, wandering musicians and a whole bunch of other eclectic fun!
This year will boast several of the world’s best known Hispanic recording artists and an astonishing variety of international foods. All of this across blocks and blocks of carnaval-decorated streets! Musical styles include all the import ones: salsa, meringue, reggeton and more.
The event is hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, and is one of 10 events that compose the annual Carnaval Miami, held Annually in February and March. You can find more information at their website www.carnavalmiami.com . We’ll see you there!
